The Bible is an incredible book. There were 40 authors who wrote the Bible (actually one, the Holy Spirit) on three continents over the course of 4,000 years, and it’s just one story. Did you know that? It was written by priests and farmers and prisoners and fishermen and military general and a cup bearer and shepherds. You might ask, “are you trying to convince me that the Bible is a good book?” Yes, but so much more! It’s 66 books telling one story; it’s an invitation into life with God. The Bible answers all life’s most important questions. The Bible is more than a self-help book. It is God’s self-disclosure. He’s saying this is who I am, and, because of my son Jesus, this is how we have a relationship with me. This requires us to be BIBLICALLY SERIOUS.
